The Shaken Image exhibition took place at Pera Museum between June 6 – August 26, 2018. Curated by Dilek Karaaziz Şener, the show brought together works by artists who were still continuing their education at the time. Featuring a wide range of disciplines and media such as painting, sculpture, installation, video, printmaking, graphic design, and ceramics, the exhibition explored the conceptual layers of the image and its relationship with the process of making.
While reflecting the contemporary inquiries of a younger generation of artists, the exhibited works focused on the image’s connection to intertwined contexts such as visuality, the body, society, memory, space, nature, and cultural norms.
In this way, The Shaken Image not only presented the creative production of art students but also invited viewers to consider how images are formed, what kind of layers they pass through, and how they are questioned within contemporary artistic practices.
